Mike looked back on 2014 and saw a Volunteer team that matured as the season progressed. The Volunteers beat a quality team in Utah St to start the year and showed a lot of resilience as they battled Oklahoma later in the non-conference schedule. Finishing up at 7-6, Mike was happy with the progress of the team and believes that the 2015 team can build off of that success.
As has become the case with Butch Jones, the Volunteers have an impressive list of recruits joining next year's team. Kahlil McKenzie headlines a class that also features Darrin Kirkland Jr. and Quarte Sapp. All three are expected to have an immediate impact on the field.
Mike expects the 2015 season to be a successful one. His expectation is an 8 win season with 9 wins possible if a game or two swing the right way. The swing games he'll be looking at are Oklahoma, Arkansas and Florida.
